A country girl by birth and also by choice I have lived my whole life in country New South Wales and just love everything country. Although I was born in Nyngan I now call Cowra home with James my patchwork friendly husband and my three kids Sam, Abbie and Jacob. Running a small business doesn’t function without total support from family and fortunately I have it.
I started my business in January 2005 when I purchased my Gammill Longarm quilting machine, affectionately called Bill. I have been quilting for over 8 years now and I can honestly say I am still learning. Each quilt brings a new challenge and I just love it. Generally I specialize in edge to edge quilting as this is the most cost effective form of industrial quilting.
The Quilter’s Coop offers weekly patchwork classes during school terms where everyone works on their own project at their own pace. Annually I arrange a quilter’s retreat where I design a quilt which everyone makes using their own choice of fabric and colourway. The retreat goes for the whole weekend with lots of laughs, eating, drinking and even a bit of sewing.
I stock an extensive range of backing fabrics as well as moda precuts, patchwork accessories, wadding, exclusive patterns and books.
Even though my business is primarily a longarm quilting service I must say I love designing fast and easy quilt patterns. My passion for designing started when we moved to Peak Hill in1993. Realising that I needed a little ‘me’ time away from the kids, a beautiful group of women took me under theirs wings and introduced me to patchwork. What started as a hobby became an obsession……. The rest is history.
